A while back, the workpieces processed by this furnace kept showing mottled stains, yellowing and blackening. Our new operators spent a lot of time adjusting parameters but got no improvement. We stayed on-site for full monitoring and finally found that the problem was not with the process parameters, but two easily overlooked details. First, the protective gas we used at that time had low purity, mixed with moisture and impurities, which ruined the workpiece surface under high-temperature heating. Second, the furnace door sealing strips were aging and the pipe joints were loose, letting external air seep into the furnace cavity during operation and causing obvious workpiece discoloration. We later switched to high-purity protective gas with regular quality inspection, replaced all aging sealing accessories, and tightened all pipe connectors for full tightness checks. After optimization, our gas annealing furnace has never suffered from batch discoloration, achieving a nearly perfect product qualification rate.
